Tillandsia werdermannii
Len Colgan.
From Len Colgan - "Has anyone ever managed to get T. werdermannii to flower? If so, do you have a picture?
About 20 years ago, I received from Walter Till in Vienna a tiny offset about the size of the lowest small plant in the clump in the attached picture. The label reads "T. werdermannii, Tacna, South Peru", which matches the only mentioned habitat in the original description. Tacna is just north of the Chilean border.
Although it is not clear in the picture, the leaves are actually gun-barrel grey in colour.
I doubt I'll ever get to see it flower. I cannot recall ever giving an offset to anyone, but my memory is poor."
