Blade narrow triangular, long acuminate, strongly channelled, to 7mm wide next to sheath, 50-70mm long, sub-erect, or almost secund, curved to recurved.
Scape almost erect, up to 35mm long, 1.5 mm diam, terete, glabrous, green.
Scape Bracts erect, longer than the internodes, bottom ones almost leaf like, upper ones lanceolate, scattered lepidote, pale purplish.
Inflorescence simple, densely distichous, 4-6 flowered, lanceolate, acute, up to 55mm long, 10mm wide, complanate.
Flowers almost sessile, erect, to 32mm long.
Floral Bracts erect, densely imbricate, oval, obtuse, minutely apiculate, ecarinate, glabrous, up to 20mm long, 10mm wide, leathery, hyaline margins, purple, exceeding the sepals by a small amount.
Sepal long ovate, obtuse acuminate, glabrous, 17mm long, 5mm wide, purple, posterior pair joined for 2mm, bluntly keeled with a fleshy median nerve.
Petals sub-lingulate, 30mm long, base white, tubular, erect, blade moderately widened, tip recurved, bluish-violet.
Stamens shorter than the petals, 22mm long, white, flattened, the middle part curled-plicate.
Anthers linear, 2mm long, basifixed, Style terete, white, as long as the stamens, Stigma minutely twisted.

Differs from T. cardenasii in.
1. - Floral bracts blunt with a small tip.
2. - Sepals posterior ones keeled and moderately connate.
