x Quesmea 'Amanda' in 'Auntie Margaret Queries' on fcbs.org
This was in the September 1984 listing of the BSI seed fund as Quesnelia marmorata x Aechmea nudicaulis. Seed was obtained by Keith Bradtberg in South Australia and eventually one plant flowered in 1989. The pale blue petals could come from the Quesnelia and the red stiff scape bracts from the Aechmea.
However, we don't know if
1. the seed was obtained from a Quesnelia marmorata with the pollen parent the Aechmea or
2. the seed was self set on a plant called Quesnelia marmorata x Aechmea nudicaulis.
If the latter then this seed batch would have been quite varied.

In 2001 we were alerted by Peter Franklin in NSW that there was a plant being grown in that area which had the reverse parents but linked to this particular seed batch. It was decided to call this x Quesmea 'Amanda Too'.
