Note:
This webmaster has been contacted by Joe Shropshire, Oceanside California (11/11/09).
Joe got this plant "20 years ago", and according to his records the parentage is 'Fireball' x 'Redbird'.
This seems to confirm that one of the parents, as suspected, is 'Fireball'.
The 'Redbird' parentage is more problematic.
There were no Neo. Redbird registered before Hojo Rojo, but after that date there were numerous different plants all registered as 'Redbird' or Red Bird'. And it seems likely there may have been other unregistered plants also with this name.
So unfortunately we do not know WHICH 'Redbird' was used in the cross.
