Mezobromelia L.B.Sm.
Mezobromelia is a genus of the subfamily Tillandsioideae, family Bromeliaceae.
The genus name is for Carl Christian Mez, German botanist (1866-1944). The six known species of this genus are rare in cultivation and are native to the West Indies and northern South America, where they grow both as epiphytes and terrestrials. (source: Encyclopaedia of Bromeliads)
