From BSR ... "Mature upright rosette to 60cm. diameter x 60cm. high. In strong light, coppery maroon leaves with large black spines and silver cross-banding on the reverse. Erect, woolly red-stemmed branched spike to 1 metre tall with scurfed red scape bracts, rounded woolly green floral bracts/ovaries tinted pink, off-white sepals and beige flowers, which blacken spent.
