Catopsis Griseb.

Catopsis is a genus of the subfamily Tillandsioideae, family Bromeliaceae.
The name is derived from the Greek words kata (hanging down) and opsis (resembling). Species are widespread across much of Latin America from Mexico to Brazil, as well as Florida and the West Indies. One of the taxa, Catopsis berteroniana, is known to be carnivorous.
