Aechmea Tritone

BCR ... "Mature, semi-bulbous-based rosette to 80cm. diameter x 60cm. high. In strong light, a pink-flushed or red-suffused, striated form of Ae. bracteata, variable with it's stripes and in the tropics can develop dark red blotches. Erect or arching, red-stemmed, red-bracted, branched spike (to 1 metre long) of sprays of green berries which turn black once ripe. This cultivar has been in cultivation for many years--origin unrecorded. See also Ae. 'Cannibal'."
