Aechmea ‘Mary Hyde’ by Geoff Lawn in J Brom Soc 37(2): 69-70. 1987 Aechmea nudicaulis 'Mary Hyde' emanating from Brisbane grower Jim Hyde became a demand item and initially fetched high prices by local standards. This albomarginated form generally has a stockier growth habit than the North American clone, but, unfortunately, the variegation can be unstable.
